A-FLOCOL 500S
POWDER
Composition
Florfenicol, Excipients ad.
Indications
Freshwater-reared salmonids, Freshwater-reared finfish, Catfish, Freshwater-reared warmwater finfish
– For the control of mortality due to furunculosis associated with Aeromonas salmonicida causing sensitivity to florfenicol in freshwater fisheries. The occurrence of the disease should be prevented before starting treatment
Dosage
Mix with feed. Instructions for preparing medicinal feeds
The powder should be mixed or dispersed on feed to provide a total daily dose of 10 mg florfenicol per kg body weight for 10 consecutive days
The total daily diet of medicated food must be taken every first day of the 10-day treatment period. If the feeding ratio is greater than 0.4% biomass, non-medicinal food can be administered after the diet or a lower incorporation ratio can be chosen to prepare the medicinal feed. If the feeding rate is ≤ 0.4% of biomass, the daily ration should only be added to medicated feed and given at the same time
Use of native feed should begin immediately after diagnosis to ensure that the fish can consume the full diet
This product should only be combined by licensed food manufacturers. A mixing rate of 0.5% or 5 kg premix/tonne of feed is recommended, however, lower mixing rates can be used where higher feeding rates are covered. The concentration of the drug premix in the feed must be greater than or equal to 0.04% or 0.4 kg of premix per ton of feed
How to mixing:
For drug feed preparation, the drug premix can be dusted on granules or introduced into fish feed before extrusion or granulation
Prepare:
Method 1: Dry mixture mixed thoroughly with feed typically contains 24 to 38% w/w fat Approximately 0.5% (w/w) of oil is then added to the premix/feed to improve both adhesion and palatability of the premix
- a) Add the specified amount of fish feed to the mixer and spin
- b) Weigh the mixture
- c) Mix the mixture with the pellets
- d) Feed pellets are mixed/coated with a predetermined amount of fish oil or vegetable oil
- e) At the end of the mixing process, the product is transferred to the tank for packaging or transportation
Method 2: Dry mixture mixed with oil. The premix/oil preparation is then added to the feed to obtain palatable food pellets
- a) Weigh fish oil or vegetable oil in a bucket
- b) Weigh the mixture and mix well with the oil in the bucket
- c) Add the specified amount of fish feed to the mixer
- d) Slowly add the oil and premix mixture to the feed in the blender while the blender is running at low speed. At the end of the mixing process, the product is transferred to storage tanks for packaging or shipping
Extruded or granulated:
The dry mixture is added directly to all the ingredients and everything is mixed well. After adding water and steam, the finished mixture is extruded or granulated, dried and bagged
- a) Premix is added directly to all ingredients and mixed well to ensure uniformity
- b) The mixture is granulated or extruded with steam and the granules are dried
- c) Feed pellets are mixed/coated with a predetermined amount of fish oil or vegetable oil
- d) At the end of the mixing process, the product is transferred to the storage tank for packaging or transportation

The formula for calculating the amount of premix to be added to feed to produce feed to be fed at a premix ratio of 0.4 kg premix per ton of feed is as follows:
{20 mg premix
(= 10 mg florfenicol)
per kilogram of live weight per day X Average weight of fish (kg)}/ Average daily feed intake (kg/con)= premix mg/kg of feed
Contra indications
Do not use in breeders
