Mr. Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Phung Duc Tien, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that in recent years, with the attention of the Party, State and Government, Vietnam’s agriculture has continuously grown and developed comprehensively, with food and foodstuff output increasing rapidly in both quantity and quality, ensuring abundant supply, not only meeting the domestic demand of more than 100 million people and millions of tourists, but also actively and responsibly participating in the global supply chain, thereby continuing to affirm its role as a pillar of the economy, contributing to stabilizing the macro-economy and social security of Vietnam.
These achievements are thanks to the open-door policy, attracting domestic and foreign investment, thereby helping Vietnam quickly access techniques, technology and management from developed countries. Along with the whole industry’s unification from awareness to action, the organization has strongly transformed from “Production thinking” to “Agricultural economic thinking”, from single-sector development to multi-sector cooperation and development; promoting multi-value integration in agricultural, forestry and fishery products; shifting from agricultural product supply chains to developing industry chains in the spirit of the “Tam Nong” Resolution and the Strategy for sustainable agricultural and rural development.
Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City
“International integration in the field of livestock and aquaculture is an important factor contributing to improving productivity, quality, efficiency and reputation of the livestock and aquaculture industries. Therefore, creating a favorable environment to encourage investment, research, development and technology transfer in the field of livestock and aquaculture is essential. To achieve this goal, close cooperation between stakeholders, between state management agencies, enterprises, researchers, farmers and the international community is needed. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development highly appreciates the role of the Organizing Committee for its efforts to maintain the organization of this important event. Hopefully, the organizing units will continue to strive, continue to innovate and expand the scale of the exhibition in the following times so that ILDEX Vietnam Exhibition continues to be a prestigious brand in the region, a meeting place not only for businesses, scientists, managers, livestock farmers in the country but also for countries in the region and internationally”, Mr. Phung Duc Tien shared.
Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, said that ILDEX is one of the largest specialized exhibitions in the Asia Pacific. In particular, ILDEX Vietnam has had a significant presence in the Vietnamese market since 2006, serving as one of the most effective platforms to connect buyers and sellers from Vietnam to the larger region.
“Vietnam is a key player in the global livestock market, ranking 1st in ASEAN and 6th in the world in pork production, with a total output of over 2.7 million tons by 2023. The year 2024 marks another important milestone in the Thailand-Vietnam bilateral relationship. Our leaders are ready to elevate our relationship from an Enhanced Strategic Partnership to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in the coming months. I am delighted that today’s Exhibition will join a series of activities to promote the spirit of cooperation between Thailand and Vietnam in this auspicious year. Not only will it enhance business connections and sign business contracts, but it will also provide opportunities for Thailand, Vietnam and other countries to exchange experiences and learn about each other’s differences and similarities through a series of seminars and forums, bringing great benefits to all exhibitors and visitors,” Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn emphasized.
Mr. Igor Palka, CEO of VNU Asia Pacific
Mr. Igor Palka, CEO of VNU Asia Pacific, recognizes the special importance of the livestock industry, which forms the foundation for agricultural progress and economic vitality of the region. ILDEX Vietnam 2024, with more than 230 exhibitors from 32 countries, reflects the strong global interest in this attractive region. “With 85% of the exhibition area featuring international brands and 15% of Vietnam’s leading innovation companies, we offer a unique platform that best connects industry stakeholders internationally. Dedicated International Pavilions featuring representatives from France, the US, the EU, the Netherlands, Turkey, Brazil, China, Korea, etc., will enhance our global network and exchange of ideas and innovations,” said Mr. Igor Palka.
This year, the show will feature the newly established Meat Pro Pavilion, which will bring together 11 leading international processing and manufacturing companies. In addition, there will be the Horti Agri Next Select Vietnam Pavilion, dedicated to Agritech. This initiative is particularly important as it aligns with VIV’s global focus on the “seed to food” concept that promises to revolutionize the way we think about food supply chains and production.
In particular, within the framework of the Exhibition, the Organizing Committee has arranged 15 specialized seminars with over 2,000 registered participants. With the aim of connecting managers, domestic enterprises with international enterprises to cooperate and discuss issues of (1) Livestock management, nutrition, feed, disease prevention and treatment; (2) Introducing new technical advances, accessing comprehensive solutions for safe and sustainable livestock farming; (3) sharing experiences in safe livestock farming to ensure animal welfare.
ILDEX VIETNAM 2024 is a great opportunity for domestic and foreign businesses to meet, exchange experiences, cooperate in business and find potential partners. The exhibition is also a place for businesses to introduce their latest products, technologies and solutions to the Vietnamese market.
ILDEX VIETNAM 2024 promises to be a successful event, contributing to promoting the development of the livestock, veterinary, dairy, meat processing and aquaculture industries in Vietnam.
