The price of breeding chickens in Hải Dương is increasing.

The price of breeding chickens sold by hatcheries in Hải Dương has increased significantly compared to the end of 2024.

According to a survey conducted by reporters on the afternoon of March 14, some poultry hatcheries in Yết Kiêu commune (Gia Lộc) are selling hybrid fighting chickens for 7,000 – 7,500 VND per chick, an increase of 2,000 – 2,500 VND per chick compared to the end of 2024. The hybrid Hồ chicken breed is being sold wholesale at production facilities for 6,000 – 6,500 VND per chick, an increase of 2,500 – 3,000 VND per chick.

At these prices, each breeding chicken provides hatcheries with a profit of 1,000 – 1,500 VND per chick.

The increase in breeding chicken prices has brought profits to poultry hatcheries in Yết Kiêu commune (Gia Lộc).

The hatchery owners stated that, according to annual trends, the price of poultry breeds in general, and breeding chickens in particular, tends to rise from March onward. This period marks the largest-scale restocking by farms throughout the year to meet market demand during the tourism season, wedding season, reburial ceremonies, and the Lunar New Year. The increased demand for breeding stock drives up prices.

Typically, from September of the previous year to February of the following year, poultry breed prices decrease as farms stabilize their livestock populations. During this period, production yields little to no profit.

Yết Kiêu commune is the largest poultry hatchery hub in northern Vietnam, with over 40 active facilities. Each facility operates 5–10 automatic incubators. On average, these hatcheries produce approximately 2.8 million poultry chicks per month, primarily supplying farms in northern Vietnam and several provinces in the central and Central Highlands regions.
