Vietnam is expected to import nearly 1 million poultry eggs in 2026

According to the Import-Export Department, the tariff-rate quota (TRQ) under Vietnam’s WTO commitments in 2026 for salt is 379,043 tons, and for poultry eggs the equivalent of 909,708 units. The Import-Export Department is currently seeking feedback on a draft Circular regulating the TRQ for salt and poultry egg imports in 2026, in order to implement Vietnam’s commitments to the World Trade Organization (WTO) while managing imports reasonably to protect domestic production.
