Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development calls for support to restore livestock production after the storm

Storm No. 3 (Storm Yagi) making landfall in our country has caused heavy losses in human lives and property in some northern provinces and cities, including livestock production. To speed up the recovery of livestock production, on September 17, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development wrote a letter calling for support and joint assistance from agencies, units, associations, businesses, organizations, and philanthropists.

Storm No. 3 (Yagi) is the strongest storm in the East Sea in the past 30 years. According to incomplete statistics, there are currently about 30,094 cattle; 3,17,239 poultry dead; many barns damaged, causing serious damage to both facilities and livestock.

Chicken farms in Dong Anh district, Hanoi were damaged after storm Yagi.

Faced with the severe damage caused by Typhoon Yagi, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Phung Duc Tien has issued an appeal to agencies, units, associations, individuals, and businesses at home and abroad. Accordingly, the Ministry hopes that agencies, units, organizations, and philanthropists will join hands to support people/livestock production facilities with cash, food, breeds, animal feed, livestock supplies, veterinary medicine, chemicals to disinfect barns, preparations to treat livestock environments, and other supplies to overcome the damage and soon restore production.

In addition, the Ministry also works with local authorities to connect agencies, units, organizations, and philanthropists to directly support livestock farmers in localities. In addition, to overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi, more than ever, Vietnam also needs the sharing of the international community, of overseas Vietnamese, of foreigners living in Vietnam and many more kind-hearted people to contribute to promoting the tradition of solidarity, “mutual love”, “the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves”.
