Sodium bicarbonate is indicated in the treatment of metabolic acidosis which may be due to diarrhea, rumen acidosis, circulatory failure due to shock or severe dehydration, cardiac arrest and primary lactic acidosis

For intravenous injection

Adult cattle (buffaloes, cows, goats, sheep, horses, camels): 4 – 5 ml per kg of body weight

Sodium bicarbonate is contraindicated in animals with chloride loss due to vomiting
